Something I am very passionate about, is Artists giving away their work for free! It is eroding our livelihood and profession. Artist that are just starting out fall into this "trap" and think that it will bring them exposure! It won't, you will just be without money to put food on the table! One artist that I truly admire, is preaching this now with posts and videos on his site and Youtube. He is really getting the message out there in the best way, by word of mouth. So watch these videos, and spread the word. The more WE as creative people respect and value our work, the more we will be able to make a living from it, and clients will respect us and our work in return! As it is now, their is a belief that we are a dime a dosen, and we can be replaced at anytime by someone just as good as us. This is a total misbelief! We and our work is unique! Company's who make money off our work, cannot do it unless WE create something for them! You have to start believing we are one of the most important pieces of the puzzle in this creative field.

Sorry for the lack of posting! Been very busy with a big animation project. Was probably the most fun I have had in a long time with my business!
I was asked to animate one song, by Large Mouth Frog Productions, Garth Lombard, who writes and produces his own children's songs, wanted one of his songs animated, and all the characters dancing and singing to the tune. It took me just over a month, although, I had a 2 weeks break over the December period. It was so much fun, and Garth was a great guy to work with, patient with me, and new the look he was after.
He is using the video to promote his site, and product. I am hoping it gets allot of attention, and then we can do another one. I think it came out really well.

Funding project
Help us out! I have been working on an Indie game for iOs platform, and managed to do a load of artwork for it so far. But I am going to need to hire a programmer and musician, and a few other things. I still have a lot of artwork and animation to do, and to enable me to do this, I have started a project on www.indiegogo.com. Please go take a look, and donate if at all possible! Any little bit will greatly help! Thanks.

Well, it's been far to long since I posted here! I have been very busy working on getting iPhone and iPad games going, and finally found 2guys locally, that are looking to do the same thing. I have done a few games for overseas clients, one in Australia, one in USA, 2 in SA, and busy with a guy in Italy. But I have been wanting to get my own games made up, and sold. I met with 2 guys who are programmers and want to do the same thing. So we have been brainstorming some ideas, and have two that we have started working on. The first is a Math's game, I don't want to give away too much on that, but I will be uploading images of the work in progress as I go. These are of the main character, a futuristic Einstein. I still have to get him animated, into an "attack" pose, then he goes back to the rest pose. Also will have to create a "win" pose. So far this is looking good. We have 10 characters for the player to choose from, all leading up to the final strongest character, Einstein. You can follow our progress on here or the other two guys blogs www.actionscript.co.za and www.stobbs.co.za

Ok, it's been way to long! But I have been very busy with a side project, that I would like to showcase here!
I have been working on a short graphic novel with 7 other great illustrators, through a website illopond. We got together to produce a Steampunk book, were each illustrator had to write and illustrate their own 8page story. It was tuff at first doing this on the side while trying to make a living! But the guys I worked with were a great support, and would regularly help each other with advice and updates! It's actually amazing how well it worked out, considering we are all situated in different country's with different timezones! The book is "8 a Steampunk Anthology" and can be purchased here . I have added a few pages and adds below. So rush on over and order a massive pile!! Please!!

Thought I would let you in on what I'm busy working on right now. This is for a client, who wants some character designed for his online game, I think for facebook. Anyway, I can't say to much about it, the usual NDA etc. So far Ive got these characters roughed out. 2managers, 2lawyers, 2pop singers guy and girl. He wanted the lawyers to look smooth one younger than the other, and the managers one indie type casual, the other a bit more upmarket. The singers speek for themselves I think. He has yet to see them, so there will probably be some changes to come. I still have to do some background scenes for the game, not my speciality, I get board doing backgrounds.

Alonso horse character design
I recently had to do a character for a client, that wanted a horse, to look like Alonso the F1 racer. It turned out to be an interresting challenge. As you can see it started out quite different to were it ended up. I really like the finished product tho! The client wanted the pose to reflect the image of "Uncle Sam" were he is pointing at the audience. I have attached the various stages as he progressed.
